A Summer Reminder to Winter
Winter wind swept shores Washed by frightful gales, Announce summer is no more When icy waves and winds prevail.
Blustery forces rush to shake With deliberate plans to devastate Summer’s beauty, sweet and fair, Crushing happy memories there.
Seagulls sing a mournful cry While endless tides run ever high. Forgetting they will gently lay Upon this very sand come May.
Spring breezes always clear the air And chase the winter’s mist away, As soft winds now gently cheer Summer, once again is here.
Crushed
It’s not the passing years, But those moments in between. Missing what might have been, Things not shared nor seen.
Emotions held within That hunger to be free. Not held hostage by the heart But expressed open and honestly.
Love Understood
That love was meant for giving The heart has understood. Not in measured quantities Which makes the mind feel good.
Love once bestowed Matters not how it was given. Its flame lights up the heart And makes a life worth living.
Even when life ends Its love that makes us cry. The mind may say farewell But our heart won’t say goodbye.
My Muse
Not a drop of ancient elements Would my muse give to me. A book in lieu she offered, An elixir for terminology.
The thesaurus is the potion, Liquid, for a poet’s mind. Enhances uncommon thoughts To amuse the dreamers of mankind.
Pillow Talk
An unfamiliar pillow Welcomes my weary head. A perpetual protector, In my earthly bed.
Secrets I whisper, It listens carefully. Keeps them confidential, Protects them ferociously.
Head to head in silence, Everlasting company. Uninterrupted sleep Planned for eternity.
We dream each night away In perfect harmony. Eyes closed, looking forward, Towards infinity.
