BINGHAMTON’S FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK

April 7th kicks off with 20-plus venues throughout Downtown and the West and South Sides from 6-9pm (unless otherwise noted). Those seeking the visual arts have plenty of choices. BU University Downtown Center presents a landscape-inspired student photo exhibit where visitors can meet the artists, vote for their favorite, and enjoy light refreshments. At the Broome County Arts Council, the work of more than 70 high school students from throughout the county are on exhibit as part of the emerging artists 2D exhibit and competition. An awards ceremony takes place at 6pm. The show runs through April 28th. Opening receptions are also slated for the Cooperative Gallery, Orazio Salati Gallery, and the Bundy Museum. For those seeking flavorful food and entertainment, India Night at the American Civic Association is the ticket. The ACA presents a multicultural dinner from 5-7pm with traditional Indian food and entertainment for $11 per person. And for American fare, City Light Café hosts two bands: folk duo LEO and the four-piece Oh Eternity.

A complete schedule for First Friday can be found at gorgeouswashington.com. First Friday Art Walk is presented by Gorgeous Washington Street Association and sponsored in part by M&T Bank, Equinox Broadcasting, and Triple Cities Carousel.
