IMPROV FROM BROOKLYN ON THE FIREHOUSE STAGE

The Brooklyn Comedy Society returns to the Schorr Family Firehouse Stage for an evening of improvisational comedy. “Last year, they had audiences rolling in the aisles,” said Naima Kradjian, Goodwill Theatre CEO. “The audience makes a big contribution to improv, because audience members’ stories are turned into sketches by the performers.” The Brooklyn Comedy Society is an improvisation and sketch group performing all over New York. They can be seen every Saturday night performing at the Magnet Theater. Members have trained at Upright Citizens Brigade, Second City, and Annoyance Theater. The group has appeared at the Manhattan Inn (courtesy of Hypnocraft), and Tidal Magazine’s pool party at the McCarren Hotel. Group members have performed all over the country, and been featured on The Today Show, MTV, Comedy Central, CollegeHumor, in the Huffington Post and Buzzfeed, and at Gawker. (The Big Apple Comedy Club Series also features a comedy ventriloquist on April 29th, and stand-up comedy on May 6th.) The Brooklyn Comedy Society show will be presented Saturday, April 1st at 7pm at the Firehouse Stage on the corner of Corliss Avenue and Willow Street in Johnson City. Tickets are $15. Call the box office at (607) 772-2404 or visit goodwilltheatre.net for tickets or more information.
