MOVIE NIGHT AT YOUR HOME PUBLIC LIBRARY
Sully (Apr 18th) – Tom Hanks plays Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, the pilot who, in 2009, made an emergency landing on the Hudson River after his passenger plane struck a flock of geese. The film depicts this ordeal, in which Sully successful lands the plane, saving all 155 passengers. He is hailed as a hero across the country, but the incident leaves him with symptoms of PTSD, as he keeps seeing images of planes crashing. Then, an investigation opens once data reveals that one engine was still running, leaving Sully with enough time to return to the airport for landing. This opens the question of whether Sully was responsible for the accident, a career-ending accusation. (PG-13)
