BINGHAMTON’S FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK
The February 2 line-up includes 21 venues throughout downtown and the west and south sides. In addition to opening receptions listed separately at the BCAC gallery, Bundy Museum, and Coop 213, the visual arts are well represented. Shows remaining on view through February include: 14 Years: Anniversary Group Exhibition at Brunelli Fine Arts; Exquisite Wearable Art Masks and Masquerade-Themed Artworks by E. L. Downey at Lost Dog Café; Helga Stein’s Expressions of Nature at Whole In The Wall Restaurant; and a showcase of residents’ personal art collections at The Gallery at 5 Riverside Drive/Towers. At the Salati Gallery, Come Live Here With Me by Matt McLean will be on view through the 24th; in the Great Hall at Christ Church, Small Works - Oil Paintings by Bassem Eldakar can be seen First Friday only; and at the ACA, Refugees, Displaced Persons, and War Brides - The Early History of the American Civic Association in Binghamton can be seen from 6-8pm. For the musically inclined with a taste for sweets, the Studio of Maria Aimoniotis presents CHOCOLAT: A French Art Song Recital at Phelps Mansion Museum, featuring Pej Reitz on piano at 6pm (doors open at 5:30pm/ chocolaty refreshments served); the museum’s first floor will also be open for viewing.
