THE PRISONER OF SECOND AVENUE IN ELMIRA

Focusing on a middle-aged Manhattan couple, Neil Simon's comedy takes a slightly darker turn as he explores the devastating effect that urban life can have. The Prisoner of Second Avenue takes place in the early 1970s, when New York City was beset by financial problems, high crime, and strikes that made daily living often inconvenient and sometimes dangerous. Join Mel and his wife, Edna, as they struggle to survive city life, noisy neighbors, faulty plumbing, and the loss of employment - all while trying to maintain a measure of dignity.

The Elmira Little Theatre production of The Prisoner of 2nd Avenue runs February 16 through 18 and 23 through 25 at the Clemens Center, 207 Clemens Center Parkway in Elmira.
